Testing Engineer/Field Engineer

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Required Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience

Field of Experience: Field Service Engineer, R&D Testing Engineer, Applications Engineer as it relates to oil field completion tool testing and qualification.

Job Description Summary

The candidate, with direction from the Testing Services Manager, will be responsible for testing project(s) execution; inclusive of test set-up design and implementation, testing safety, and quality operations relating to testing activities and client requirements. The Testing Engineer will assist the Testing Services Manager with scheduling activities and resource planning. This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University, plus a minimum of 2-5 years (or equivalent) of field or lab/testing experience and a willingness to work flexible hours.

Job Functions and Expectations

  • Actively participate in the company's Safety, Quality and Confidentiality policies
  • Responsible for aspect of testing project(s) execution, including design, set-up execution and implementation, testing safety, and quality operations relating to testing projects
  • Responsible for scheduling activities, and resource planning for testing projects
  • Plan, delegate and instruct others to perform various test set-up activities
  • Provide Data Acquisition requirements for testing projects
  • Ensures the lab is adequately prepared for a client test (inventory, equip needs, maintenance)
  • Responsible for all NCR documentation, quality documents and customer feedback
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding testing of client's tools
  • Responsible for client test reports, and client raw data
  • Operate cranes and forklifts in a safe manner
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs


  • Mechanical Engineering Graduate (BsME) from an accredited University
  • 2-5 years (project engineering)
  • Capable of presenting test plan, test design, and schedules internally and to clients
  • Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic and gas pressure systems
  • Must be mechanically inclined, ability to work "hands on" in a test lab facility.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot a system (tool/equipment or manifold)
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to delegate assignments
  • Capable of managing and scheduling projects
